After a brief mySQL outage at my ISP this morning, a total of 29 apps was added to the list today, with more updates in the works. The app USAviationWX was removed from the list as it was replaced by its developer (B. Walker Software), with USAViationWX Pro. These updates bring the total number of apps listed to 211.

Our friends over at ForeFlight released a new version (v 2.4) of their popular ForeFlight Mobile this week. This new version contains many enhancements to both usability and performance, and best of all it is free to ForeFlight Mobile 2.x users. You can read all about the new version, including screenshots and a bulleted feature list over on the ForeFlight Blog.

Hello and welcome to AviatorApps.com, a directory of aviation related applications and web sites for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The initial release of the site is somewhat limited in functionality, but more is coming soon. The good news is that app list has been expanded to contain many more applications with links directly to iTunes, and the ability so sort the list by price, developer and date added (to the list) will soon be added. Eventually, the plan is to provide the ability to be able to sort by category (e.g. weather, flight planning, E6B, etc.), which should be a very useful feature.
To keep you up to date on aviation application news, this news feed will contain announcements of new applications or new versions to existing apps, enhancements or new features of this site, and best of all as apps are added to the list I will include a post so that you are notified as the list is updated. All you have to do to add the RSS feed to your newsreader of choice and all the news will be delivered to you automatically (BTW… there’s an app for that).
I’ve got several other features in mind too, but I’ll be talking about all the features in more detail in an upcoming post. In the meantime, please give the site a try and let me know what you think. If you encounter issues or bugs please use the feedback form to report them to me.
